Howard Fensterman is a successful attorney and Managing Partner of the law firm of Abrams, Fensterman, Fensterman, Eisman, Formato, Ferrara & Wolf, LLP, a New York-based law firm that has achieved an outstanding reputation for its leadership in both law and for the significant role the firm plays in an array of corporate citizenship activities.
Mr. Fensterman is also a well-known philanthropist and humanitarian who contributes to a large variety of charitable sources. Mr. Fensterman provides support to organizations that focus on improving the life of individuals. He has contributed extensively to charities that are focused on medical treatment, as well as finding cures for debilitating diseases.
Mr. Fensterman strongly believes in the concept of ‘tzedakah’, which means justice or righteousness. Although this word traditionally had a religious connotation, today the term refers to a spontaneous act of goodwill.
He believes that we should give back to our communities, and help support specific charities, with the aim of improving the lives of the community. He has donated a large sum of money to two charitable organizations in the US: the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Long (CCFA) and the Chabad of Port Washington.
A renowned philanthropist in Long Island, Mr. Fensterman is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Long Island Chapter of CCFA, which offers charitable services to more than 30,000 individuals that suffer from Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The charity foundation offers education and outreach program to the individuals.
Since the foundation is not a Government sponsored organization, it relies on donations received from individuals to finance its activities. Mr. Fensterman has provided the foundation with considerable grants that has supported the research, education, and outreach programs. Due to his generous contributions, the CCFA’s Board of Trustees had named him “Man of the Year” in 2011.
Another organization that has greatly benefited from charitable contributions by Mr. Fensterman is the Chabad of Port Washington that provides a ‘home away from home’ for any individual that walks through its doors.
In December 2015, Mr. Fensterman had sponsored the organization’s Gift of Hope and Life program that benefited the Israel Children’s Cancer Foundation. Thanks to his generous involvement and donations, the foundation has been able to fund various charitable projects including an impressive educational campus located in Port Washington. Mr. Fensterman’s substantial funding for the charitable organizations has helped them to grow their scope of activities.
